Hello to all our guests! We are looking forward to seeing you all at our wedding. I thought we'd set up this website so that once people had RSVP'd I could send them to this site and all information would be contained on the site itself.

A couple of details first of all: Given the size of the wedding venues (the church and our home), and our desire to keep our wedding as intimate as possible Vince and I have decided that this is an adults only event and we thank you for understanding.

Wedding register: We have registered with Living and Giving in Wellington and the website is http://www.livingandgiving.co.nz/ with the registry under my name (click on wedding registry and enter Hughes and the date of the wedding). All information is available on the website. Alternatively we have also registered with Trade-Aid in Masterton. There is of course a huge Trade-Aid in Wellington and all purchases from these stores directly benefit the people making the goods.

Ceremony location: Vince and I are being married by May Croft, Anglican Vicar for South Wairarapa at Wairongamai Church. The church is located 23kms down the Western Lake Road. The road begins on the edge of Featherston just as you come out of the Rimutakas.

The ceremony begins at 3:30pm. Please ensure that you arrive at the house by 2pm for a glass of punch and nibbles before the trip as we will be departing at around 2:30pm. I reckoned if we all left en masse the chances of people getting lost trying to find the church would be dimished considerably!

Reception: After the ceremony Vince and I will be having photos at the church. Guests return to the house for nibbles with dinner to follow when Vince and I return to the house at around 5:30pm. In the interests of keeping everyone safe no alcohol is to be consumed before the meal. We will not be serving alcohol before the main meal and we request that guests not bring alcohol in.

Accomodation: if you decide to stay overnight following the wedding or the day before the wedding it is advisable to book accomodation ASAP. The Wairarapa is very busy during the summer as that is prime wine and wedding season. There are many very nice places to stay, with an excellent campground very near to our house. As well as camping spaces it also has very nice cabins, I went and had a look around. :)

Some suggestions right near us:

Carterton Holiday Park (aforementioned campground) - 198 Belvedere Road - 06-379-8267

Marquis of Normandy Hotel - 63 High Street Carterton, not flash but clean and inexpensive - 06-379-7960

Masterton is 9kms up the road from us and it is chock full of hotels and motels. There are also a plethora of lovely B & B's in the Wairarapa with Greytown, Martinborough and Featherston all within easy drive of Carterton and the church.
If you have any questions PLEASE do not hesitate to contact us at home or work, or via email.
We are SO excited about the wedding and looking so forward to seeing you all!
Much love
Mim and Vince
